After exiting some program windows crashed and I had to restart my laptop. After restart (windows booted) I got black screen with cursor. I googled it and find out that it could be a GPU problem, so from safe mode I disabled my AMD Radeon HD 8xxx. M (8. 50. 0M/8. 70. M to be precise) driver and after that windows was working fine until this crash happened again. Again from safe mode I saw that GPU driver is enabled (windows enabled it somehow..). After that I downloaded Display Driver Uninstaller and used it from safe mode to disable my driver and now it works just fine but I am not able to use my GPU now..
Flickering Screen/Black Screen After Installing. After installing the R310 driver on Windows.
I tried to update my windows but also in the middle of update I get black screen (I think it downloads and enables GPU driver during update). Installing all possible versions of AMD Catalyst didn't work.
Disabling GPU and updating windows. EDITLaptop model: Dell Inspirion 5. Programs I installed 3- 5 days before crash (causality?): Adobe Flash Player 1. NPAPI, Drobox (update) and Popcorn Time. EDIT 1. I think I found something really important.
I have also Intel(R) HD Graphics 4. I install drivers for both intel and radeon I get black screen. When only intel driver is installed it's working and when only radeon driver is installed I got error Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Maybe this could be useful for someone to help me solve this issue. CURRENT STATUS 7/2.
I wasn't able to find correct solution for this. Thanks @Divin. 3 for your help! I was closest to solution when I downloaded all video drivers from dell. Intel - > restart - > Radeon (I wasnt getting black screen) - > restart (after second restart there was black screen). Installing previous versions and beta versions also didn't work for me, so now I am waiting to update to Windows 1. For now I have only installed Intel video drivers - thats my current solution.
Fix Black Screen on Windows 8 Laptop with Intel HD Graphics. There’s no newer Intel Driver on Windows or Vaio Update.
If I solve this problem I will update my quesiton for future generations.. HOW I SOLVED ITI wasn't able to find official solution for this problem. After upgrading to windows 1.
The installation was successful, and all the prerequisites were installed. I installed manually for two reasons: I've had issues in the past with updates failing, and then working a second time.
Data is expensive, I can't afford for updates to fail and then get re- downloaded (sometimes it's cached, sometimes not). So, I installed the update, which ran sucessfully.
Then, I rebooted, and got the black screen, without the cursor (even wen moving the mouse - no cursor flickering as others have experienced). Now, the laptop is a touch- screen.
So, I touched it, and BAM, Windows 7 silver loading cursor appeared with the tiny touch screen cross- hairs. And then it was gone. I thought that it may just be a delay, and so I let it sit for 3. Nothing. Some points to note: Safe Mode does not work.
- Black screen after installing amd drivers. And I did make sure that I chose the drivers for Windows 7 64-bit.
- Inserted the windows 7 disk. Installation went through all of the steps but when it restarted on its own now I all get is a black screen.
- Black Screen after installing Nvidia Drivers. So I was in windows, just my screen was black. And the first thing I installed after format was the nvidia.
Low- resolution mode does not work. There are no restore points (why did the update not create one?)I'm able to access the command prompt, of course, which runs in the good ol' Windows 7 basic window style. From there, I can open up C: WindowsLogsCBSCBS.
The only notable entry there is: Upload callback called with file path: C: WINDOWSservicingsqmPackage. Change. End. Thing is, it just sat there for a while saying . Why would it say that if I'm x. I'm sure it's a little something I'm missing there. There's only one thing that I can think of that may have caused this. Yesterday, My Intel HD drivers updated. It seems that the update was corrupt/botched because my games would no longer open.
Turns out that there was something wrong with Optimus in that my Ge. Force 7. 20. M wasn't initialising. So I rolled back that update.
Problem is, I couldn't roll back from Windows Update. So I re- installed the driver that came packaged with my Lenovo S5.
P. This is the only thing I believe could be causing this problem. Note: there were two installed updates after the original drivers. One more note: there seem to be a whole bunch of files pending renames (C: WindowsWin. Sx. STempPending. Renames), all from yesterday's successful updates (.
NET etc). Could this perhaps cause an issue? Now, please could someone help me with either of the following? Roll- back KB2. 91. I may not have entered the correct DISM command. Edit: Turns out that won't work when using command prompt; access to /online is prohibited.)Alternatively, update the Intel driver to the latest - I don't care about gaming right now; as long as the laptop can start up, I'll be happy. There may also be other solutions - if there are, please let me know. Thanks a ton. Because I'm impatient and have quite a bit of work to do, I landed up doing a Refresh.
Problem is that it reverted back to Windows 8, build 9. My laptop came with 8. I would assume that they installed from an 8.
Meh, this day has been way too long.
